We are looking for an experienced engineer to join our AI team to build proofs of concept that demonstrate how these technologies can solve use cases from across the firm.

The Expertise we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, physics or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, or relevant graduate studies
- Proficiency in Python (essential for AI) and familiarity with Java/NodeJS. Experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., Angular, React, Typescript) is a plus.
- Strong experience with REST API development, database management (PostgreSQL, Oracle), and DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, Kubernetes, Cloud)
- Hands-on experience working with LLMs for information retrieval and data science problems. Familiarity with multi-agent systems, tool calling, and workflow orchestration (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex).
- Proven ability to develop end-to-end integrations, connecting backend AI services with user-facing applications.

As a member of the FCAT Data Science and AI team, you will
- Build & Deploy: Rapidly build proof of concepts using AI tools and deploy them at scale to prove value.
- Evolve Infrastructure: Support and evolve our internal AI infrastructure to ensure our pilots have a robust foundation
- Innovate: Scout and evaluate the latest AI technologies to identify high-value opportunities for the firm

The Team
The Fidelity Center for Applied Technology (FCAT) supports the entire Fidelity business with a mission to catalyze innovation for Fidelity and its clients. We are a group within FCAT that is leading efforts on exploring AI technologies to disrupt business models, and provide new opportunities with new products and services.
The hourly pay rate range for this position is $50.00-$90.00 per hour.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
