The Role

As an Alternatives Accounting Product Leader, you will blend hedge fund/private equity/private debt/real assets accounting and back-office operations expertise with a passion for delivering results and driving scale and efficiency across the Fidelity Fund Investment Operations (FFIO) organization. In an agile format and structure, you will partner with other leaders to influence the broader strategic decisions and roadmaps, set the mission, and bring the team together to execute on specific results. Ensuring respective products or services are available, stable, and meet alternatives market standards. You will ensure alignment on the ‘what and when’ of the work performed by the team through ongoing planning and prioritization, to enable the team to work iteratively, innovate when appropriate, celebrate successes, and learn from failures.

  • Provide critical alternatives/private market subject matter expertise and context to accelerate the product roadmap and target state operating model.
  • Collaborate with the Alternatives Product Area Leader, other product area leads, technology teams, chapter leaders, and key collaborators. Together, define the highest priority work.
  • Define, refine, and communicate the team's mission to team members and business partners to empower and rally support
  • Anticipate, discover, and prioritize client / partner needs to serve as the voice of the clients and guide execution of the team
  • Measure performance through established critical metrics and deliver agreed upon business, technology, and people results
  • Inspect and evaluate progress, and remove impediments for your team
  • Define, present, and evaluate results against agreed acceptance criteria
  • Make informed trade-off decisions to strike the right balance between quality, cost, and timelines
  • Maintain and develop your own expertise and knowledge in private market to ensure you bring the latest thinking to your role
  • Promote the agile while demonstrating the Fidelity leadership principles, you will promote and sustain an innovative culture.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Subject matter expertise experience preferred including alternatives products servicing with an asset manager, fund administration firm or custodian.
  • Advanced knowledge of broad and deep operations of private market products including privately held equity holdings, real estate and infrastructure holdings as well as private markets fund of funds holdings as well as fund structures associated with these segments.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills. You will be able to absorb complex information and present it in a clear, digestible way to multiple audiences.
  • Grasp sophisticated product features and break them into clear and concise stories with well-defined business value and acceptance criteria
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Agile and Jira experience required

We are part of Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO), and collaborate with investment operations, trading, compliance, legal, and oversight teams across all Fidelity asset management divisions to bring new products and services to our customers. Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
