Job Summary

The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is a renowned academic institution with prominent clinical and research programs spanning the spectrum of human development and disease including aging, cancer biology, cardiovascular, diabetes, neuroscience, public health, and others. The Department of Physiology is a highly productive and collegial environment with faculty and trainees actively engaged in research in each of these areas. Our prominent and collaborative investigators are making major advances in biomedical research and leading training programs that prepare scientists and physician scientists for successful careers in academia, industry, and government.

The Department of Physiology is currently seeking to recruit a faculty member for a full-time, tenure-track appointment (12 month) at any rank to contribute to our missions in research, teaching and academic service. We invite applications from scientists with Ph.D. and/or M.D degrees to establish an independent, extramurally-funded research program addressing significant and fundamental questions in their respective field. While there is a preference for candidates with research interests in pulmonary, renal, or reproductive physiology this is not required for an applicant to be considered.

The Department of Physiology is housed in modern research facilities with convenient access to core facilities equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation. Competitive start-up funds, independent research space, and professional development will be provided.
