Job Summary

The University of Kentucky College of Medicine is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs & Development, Campus Integration. This senior leadership role within the College of Medicine is responsible for advancing innovative, high-quality educational programs that connect and unify all College of Medicine campuses. The role also plays a pivotal part in enhancing the academic and professional development of faculty, medical students, residents, and fellows through strategic support and programming across all campuses.



This position offers the opportunity to lead integrated systems that support faculty development, promote collaboration across regional campuses, and strengthen the College’s educational mission.

The Assistant Dean will concurrently serve as Division Chief of Academic Medical Education (AME) and report directly to the Associate Dean for Faculty Development, with a 0.5 FTE administrative commitment. Remaining 0.5 FTE will be determined based on candidate’s interests and qualifications.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership in academic medical education, with the ability to develop and implement innovative, high-quality educational programs across multiple campuses.
  • Strong understanding of faculty development principles and practices, including onboarding, mentoring, and professional growth.
  • Proven ability to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders, including faculty, campus leaders, clinical partners, and academic departments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and promote engagement across geographically distributed teams.
  • Strategic thinking and organizational skills to lead cross-campus initiatives and manage complex projects aligned with institutional goals.
  • Experience in managing budgets, allocating resources, and pursuing external funding to support educational initiatives.
  • Knowledge of faculty appointment, promotion, and tenure processes, particularly within academic medical education settings.
  • Ability to lead continuous quality improvement efforts and assess program outcomes effectively.
  • Familiarity with educational research, program evaluation, and data-informed decision-making.
  • Commitment to advancing integrated learning environments across all College of Medicine campuses.
