JOB SUMMARY
A Nursing Instructor is responsible for conducting college classes for undergraduate students and performing related work as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICIATIONS

<li>Recent professional nursing clinical experience.</li>
<li>Active, unencumbered Tennessee or multistate compact RN or APRN license</li>

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

<li>Fulfill all instructional requirements as mandated by Cleveland State Community College and the Tennessee Board of Regents.</li>
<li>Utilize appropriate instructional materials and methods.</li>
<li>Maintain currency in instructional field and teaching methodology.</li>
<li>Devote a minimum of 37.5 hours per week to the institution, maintain appropriate office hours, and secure approval for any commitments which might affect employment.</li>
<li>Be accessible to students for advisement, academic help, and assistance depending on instructional format.</li>
<li>As needed, teach during all operational hours of the college on- or off-campus.</li>
<li>Participate in institutional and academic unit meetings.</li>
<li>Maintain and safeguard all necessary records and report grades periodically as prescribed by Registrar.</li>
<li>Comply with Cleveland State Community College and Tennessee Board of Regents Guidelines and Policies.</li>
<li>Participate in periodic evaluations.</li>
<li>Support and participate in the recruitment and retention efforts of the college.</li>

WORK ACTIVITIES &amp; EQUIPMENT
Work regularly requires the use of personal computers, printers, scanners, and presentation technology (instructional media). Incumbent must exhibit competency pertaining to all training equipment specifically related to the instructor’s discipline.
JOB LOCATION
The primary workplace for this position is the Health and Science Building at Cleveland State Community College in Cleveland, Tennessee. Occasional travel to off-campus instructional sites within the College’s five-county service area may be required. The weekly work schedule will be determined by program and course needs and may vary from day to day. Some evening hours may also be necessary.

CLEVELAND STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE is accepting applications for the following position: Adjunct Faculty Pool - Nursing
Adjunct instructors provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class. The major emphasis for instructors is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a variety of formats and at several different locations, as well as online. Instructors also communicate with students between classes and are responsible for several administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity and submitting final grades.
Adjunct instructors will participate in courses on a semester by semester basis to supervise associate degree nursing students in skills lab, simulation lab, and or clinical lab settings. Master Degree level prepared adjunct faculty may also provide lecture and classroom instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Planning and teaching classes as assigned and as outlined in the course descriptions and course syllabi and departmental guidelines.
2. Beginning and ending all classes as scheduled and covering all relevant learning outcomes for each course.
3. Maintaining academic standards and classroom behavior to ensure an environment conducive to learning, communicating with students weekly, and answering student emails in a timely manner.&nbsp;
4. Evaluating students using a variety of methods and informing each student of scores received on each assessment in a timely manner.
5. Using Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and responding to student questions via Cleveland State email in a timely manner.&nbsp;
6. Meeting deadlines for all administrative requests such as submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, academic activity and assessment reports, and final grades.&nbsp;
7. Submitting requests through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher for equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids.
Qualifications:&nbsp;
*A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution required for clinical adjunct.
