A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.Purpose of PositionSummary: The Assistant Director of Marketing conceptualizes, drafts, and implements comprehensive marketing, sales and engagement plans that result in increased ticket sales, revenue growth and fan affinity for UTEP Athletics.Note: The primary accountabilities below are intended to describe the general content of and requirements of this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties. A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for game day scripting and execution of soccer, men's basketball, and softball athletics events, in collaboration with the Associate Athletic Director for Marketing & Digital Strategy and Van Wagner, UTEP Athletics' exclusive multimedia rights partner and sales agent.Create a fun and exciting game day experience for fans, including improved audio and visuals, concourse activities, halftime entertainment, spirit coordination, music, contests, pre-game entertainment, and overall presentation.Collaborate with other External Relations units on strategic plan to promote UTEP Athletics events, teams and student-athletes through various social media platforms (ie X , Instagram, Facebook ).Develop print materials to promote UTEP Athletics events, including posters and schedule cards.Manage trade contracts with media partners; works with Associate Athletic Director for Marketing & Digital Strategy to create social media and print advertising graphics, as well as radio and TV commercials.Collaborate with campus groups to increase student interest and attendance at UTEP Athletics events.Executes promotional activities with UTEP coaches and student-athletes both on and off campus.Works closely with the Miner Athletic Club and Taymar (UTEP Athletics Ticketing Partner) to develop aggressive season ticket and group sales promotional plans.Coordinates internal marketing efforts on UTEP Athletics' official website, www.UTEPMiners.com.Act as a liaison between the Athletics department and internal or external customers.Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software.Complies with all State and University policies.Other duties may be assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's objectives, policies and applicable laws.QualificationsQualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
