Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Enrollment Management & High School Partnerships, this position will lead and manage Early College staff, while also coordinating day to day Early College operations within the combined Early College, Recruiting, and Orientation Office. This position will also work with the Director of Strategic Enrollment Management & High School Partnerships, the Assistant Director of Recruiting & Orientation, and other relevant parties to develop and implement a strategic enrollment management plan focused on matriculating dual enrollment students as full-time college students.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Holistic Student Support

  • Daily monitoring of all Early College student enrollment and academic progress with timely responses to and communications with students, parents, and designated high school faculty/staff members (within FERPA guidelines).
  • Work with the Director of Strategic Enrollment Management & High School Partnerships and other responsible parties to develop a dual academic advising policies and procedures, and the dual enrollment academic advising portal.
  • Work with the Director of Strategic Enrollment Management & High School Partnerships and Assistant Director of Recruiting & Orientation to plan and implement Early College new student orientation events.
  • Serve as the Early College Outreach Specialist for a minimum of one of the college’s five largest partner high schools.

Fiscal Stewardship

  • Coordinate the invoice agreement process between partner LEAs and the Bursar’s office.
  • Coordinate Early College office outreach efforts regarding student nonpayment and deletion.
  • Monitor and track Early College expenditures, and assist the Director of Strategic Enrollment Management & High School Partnerships with managing the Early College Office budget.

Organizational Culture

  • Serve as a liaison between the Early College office, and other offices at Chattanooga State Community College.
  • Supervise all Early College staff while jointly supervising the Rural Outreach Specialist positions with the Assistant Director of Recruiting & Orientation.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Aid office for proactive outreach and stakeholder engagement regarding all relevant dual enrollment scholarships, while also assisting the Financial Aid office in resolving issues relating to all dual enrollment scholarships.

Program Innovation

  • Work with the Director of Strategic Enrollment Management & High School Partnerships to implement and modify Chattanooga State’s Early College master plan.
  • Work with the Director of Strategic Enrollment Management & High School Partnerships to develop and maintain an Early College operations guide, and to create, implement, and revise Early College policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Serve as the Early College office’s expert for Banner, Slate, Zogotech, and other relevant software/programs.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND WORK CHARACTERISTICS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree with a Master’s degree preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working with high school students in either a college or high school setting, as a counselor, college & career advisor, academic advisor, financial aid staff member or as a dual enrollment staff member.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Extensive experience working in a customer service or educational setting, preferably at a postsecondary institution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Online and other commonly used office applications.
  • Prefer experience working with a student information system such as Ellucian and/or Slate products.
  • Comfortable working in a stressful, fast-paced environment with a high level of sensitivity towards confidentiality, and working with a diverse student population.

Work is typically performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone, use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary Range: $53,429 - $66,786
