Required Education

Degree in athletic training, with one of the following:
a. A post-professional academic doctoral degree (i.e. PhD, EdD, DSc), or
b. A professional Doctor of Athletic Training degree.

Required Related Experience
  • Experience teaching in CAATE-accredited PMSAT curriculums with emphasis in course management and design, particularly in the content areas of lower extremity musculoskeletal injury evaluation, upper extremity musculoskeletal injury evaluation, emergency care and management, and general medical conditions.
  • Teaching experience in post-professional athletic training curriculums.


Required License/Registration/Certification

Current athletic training license in Kentucky or eligibility for licensure.

Job Summary

Tenure-eligible Faculty Position in the Department of Athletic Training and Clinical Nutrition

The Department of Athletic Training and Clinical Nutrition (ATCN), College of Health Sciences (CHS) at the University of Kentucky is currently accepting applications for a full-time 12-month appointment, tenure-eligible faculty member at rank determined by qualifications in the Special Title Series, to begin employment by July 1, 2026.

Primary duties of this position include comprehensive teaching in the Professional Master’s of Science in Athletic Training (PMSAT) curriculum and the Graduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Injury Management, advancing a scholarly agenda that synergizes with and enhances the research portfolio of the Department and College, building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external constituents, participating in institutional and professional service, and mentoring students in the PMSAT program. The distribution of effort for this position will be approximately 65-80% instruction, 10- 20% scholarship/research, 5-10% service, and 2-5% professional development.

  • Able to begin employment July 1st, 2026.
  • Participation with the CAATE accreditation self-study process.
  • Administrative experience in a CAATE accredited program.
