Job Summary

The Department of Psychologyin the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY seeks to fill a tenure-eligible faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with expertise in the field of cognitive neuroscience. This is a 9-month position in the regular title series with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. The first year Distribution of Effort will be 25% Teaching, 65% Research, and 10% Departmental service. Ideal candidates will have an active program of research with existing, or clear potential for, external funding. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching and service mission of the department, especially within the Cognitive Neuroscience Area. We encourage applications from candidates whose research program investigates interactions between cellular and behavioral outcomes in the context of health-related issues, including substance use disorder. Special consideration will be given to candidates whose research aligns with the university’s Substance Use Priority Research Area (https://research.uky.edu/research-priorities/SUPRA). The successful candidate will be prepared and willing to teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the Cognitive Neuroscience area and the Neuroscience B.S. program. The University of Kentucky has excellent resources in this area including the Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy Center, Center for Clinical and Translational Science, and Sanders Brown Center on Aging.



A Ph.D. in cognitive psychology, cognitive science, cognitive/behavioral neuroscience, clinical or experimental neuropsychology, or a related discipline is required.
