Job Summary:
The College of Health Sciences and the Department of Athletic Training, Health and Exercise Science invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track facultyappointment. Initial responsibilities include the instruction of didactic and clinical courses in the CAATE-accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training Program. Additional requirements include assisting the Program Director and Coordinator of Clinical Education with all institutional and program-specific assessment, strategic program development, maintaining compliance with all accreditation standards and student advising.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Athletic Training, experience with accreditation processes, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This role requires exceptional organizational, and communication skills, as well as established contemporary expertise in the field of Athletic Training.
Essential Functions:

2. Ensure the curriculum aligns with accreditation standards (CAATE).
4. Assure achievement of the program’s goals and outcomes.
5. Foster strong community partnerships and develop internship placements.
6. Contribute to all aspects of the program, including the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the program.
9. Teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in the Athletic Training program.
10. Active participation in recruitment and retention efforts.
11. Active involvement in scholarship and service to the University.
12. Apply best practices to facilitate teaching and learning processes and principles with a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
13. Document student learning, interpret outcomes, and record grades.
14. Maintain accurate and appropriate student, course, and program documentation.
15. Participate in the Programmatic Advisory Committee.
16. Comply with all duties outlined in the University Faculty Handbook.
Qualifications/Education:
- an earned academic doctorate (PhD, EdD) in Athletic Training or related field.
- ABD candidates will be considered.
- Practice-focused doctoral degrees such as the DAT will be considered.
- verification of BOC Certification which is current and in good standing.
- verification of Pennsylvania State Athletic Training License which is current and in good standing.
- or eligible prior to August 15, 2026.
- previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Demonstrated ability to teach using multiple pedagogical approaches.
- Full time teaching experience is preferred.
- a defined scholarly agenda AND evidence of active scholarship is preferred.
- experience as preceptor is preferred.
- 3-5 years of clinical experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
1. Attendance is required to perform the duties of this job.
2. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
3. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
