Assistant/Associate Professor of Business-SPSUIW MissionPosition SummaryThe School of Professional Studies invites full-time faculty candidates for non tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Business. Position will teach a variety of Business courses (DBA, PMBA) via online instruction. Full-time faculty at UIW are expected to teach at least two courses in the fall semester and at least two courses in the spring semester, with potential summer course assignment based on departmental need. In all matters, faculty are expected to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics consistent with the UIW Mission. Official duties and responsibilities of full-time faculty members at the university include teaching, scholarship, service and professional activities.The School of Professional Studies (SPS) provides educational opportunities for adults wanting to earn an undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees in non-traditional formats. Classes are available in a hybrid format or 100% online. The School of Professional Studies also offers personal development and continuing education opportunities through the office of Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE).Credentials of finalist will determine final rank. Note that this is a hybrid assignment, with regular on-campus meetings and events.Essential Functions• Serve as lead in curriculum development, annual assessment, and advancement of the respective program.• Prepare course outlines based on approved departmental syllabi.• Prepare and deliver consistent, interactive course lectures which align with curriculum goals. Teaching assignment will be a minimum of one class per eight-week term (spring and fall); summer term classes to be assigned as needed.• Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure curriculum outcomes and accreditation standards are met.• Prepare and administer timely and meaningful exams, projects, and assessments for assigned courses.• Advise and mentor students; provide individual assistance to students during weekly office hours.• Participate in accreditation-related activities such as data collection/analysis and preparation of reports and documentation to ensure ongoing compliance as needed.• Adhere to UIW Faculty Handbook and SPS Faculty Handbook policies and processes including timely record keeping of student activities, fair and equitable evaluation of student performance, and timely feedback to students regarding their performance in the course.• Conduct respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students both in and outside the classroom.• Perform scholarly research and publication as assigned.• Provide service to the respective department, college, university, community, and profession.• Perform other duties as assigned. Job DutiesKnowledge Skills and Abilities• Effective instructional delivery;• Ability to actively engage students in the learning process;• Knowledge and skills to teach undergraduate courses in specialty;• Proficiency in the use of instructional technology;• Ability to conduct respectful relationships with students both in and outside the classroom;• Ability to work collegially and productively within the university community;• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.Required EducationPhD in Business or closely related field from an accredited institution.Required Work ExperienceExperience teaching in respective discipline in a college or university setting, both online and in-person.
