The Associate Director is part of the Product Development and Supply Center of Excellence finance team (PDS FP&A COE). This role will support the VP of Finance for Global Product Supply Manufacturing. This person will partner across worldwide manufacturing sites to drive the financial planning & analysis for the Global Business Unit (Biologics and Small Molecule manufacturing organization). This includes providing strategic and tactical financial support, providing insights and advising on business cases, investment decisions and financial impacts.

The Associate Director will assist in driving the enterprise-wide strategy to optimize operating costs of the global manufacturing operations. This individual will oversee and direct the activities of the global manufacturing operations finance teams to execute the budget, projection, and close processes.

Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Direct all financial activities for the global manufacturing operations including annual budgets and projections. Manage timelines, reviews, and deliverables.
  • Consolidate and analyze operating results across sites to monitor business performance, identify risks & opportunities, advising on areas of cost control and incremental investment. Drive achievement of productivity targets/goals. Enhance visualization and financial reporting to drive better insights into financial drivers and results.
  • Identify opportunities and helps drive best practices and optimization of financial processes, including standardization and simplification.
  • Present budgets, projections, financial results and analysis to senior leaders, providing key insights and messaging. Drive decision making to allow sites to execute on operating plans and ensure continuity of supply.
  • Drive enterprise-wide manufacturing network decisions on product supply, providing financial analysis & modeling to support investment decisions and evaluation of strategic network alternatives.
  • Advise on long terms strategic plans, including Cost of Goods estimates for new products, CI initiatives and potential sourcing changes.
  • Monitor both internal and external environments to address changing business needs and governmental regulations that will influence manufacturing network strategy decisions.
  • Manage special projects, ad-hoc analysis to ensure highly effective outcomes serving as a financial advisor.
  • Maintain internal control environment to the highest standards of compliance and integrity.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum education of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting is required. CPA and/or MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of diversified experience in accounting or finance is required. Experience with the development of annual business plan/budget and financial projections is required. Working knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing operations is preferred.
  • High level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Thinkcell is required; Other visualization and analytical tools like Power BI and Tableau are highly desirable.
  • Accounting knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and analytical skills is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of general ledger and budgeting systems preferred; particularly, the SAP suite and Oracle Hyperion.
  • The successful candidate must be able to present to senior level management.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with global finance team and work effectively in a highly matrixed organization.

The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off

  • US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)
  • Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays

Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.

All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.

*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
