Position Summary
The Associate Director, Customer Insights supports the development andleads theexecution of market research, advanced analyticsand insight‑generation activities that inform strategic and tactical decision‑making fortheU.S.Thoracic business. This role contributes to the design of research initiatives, synthesizes data across sources, and communicates clear, objective insights that guide brandstrategies,executionand customer engagement.Therole is accountable forexecutingend-to-end analytics and insights, ensuring alignment with brandobjectivesand enterprise commercial strategies.
As an Associate Director, this rolewill collaborate closely with cross-functional partners—including members of the Tumor, Sales, Medical, and Access teams—to support data-informed decision-makingand customer engagement. In this capacity, the Associate Director will work under the guidance of the Directorensuringalignment withbusiness unit andenterpriseobjectives. The Associate Director will support the development and implementation of standardized reporting processes, predictive analytics, and performance dashboards while promoting innovative analytics,and the use of advanced tools and methodologies such as AI and machine learning.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Analytics Leadership
- Partner with Director to develop and execute comprehensive primary and secondary market research plans focused on actionable insights and identification of potential brand opportunities.Manage projectlogisticsincluding vendor coordination, timeline tracking, and ensuring compliance with research best practices.
- Synthesizedata from multiple sources (APLD, IQVIA, SHS, Claims, Patient chart data,BrandImpact) to extract meaningful business insights that inform marketing strategies.
- Deliver clear, concise presentations that synthesize disparate data anddemonstratea deep understanding of market dynamics, competition, and brand performance.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate withtheCenters of Excellenceto ensure a unified and comprehensive approach toinsightsgeneration.
- Partner with Brandteam membersto proactively answer business questions, provide data-based solutions to strategic choices, and support seniorleaderpresentations.
Innovation & Advanced Analytics
- Partner with Director toidentifyopportunities andexecutethe development and deployment of innovative approaches and techniques ininsight generationthat reflect best practice
- Drivetheadoption and application of advanced analytics capabilities, including AI, machine learning, and other innovative methodologies to enhance insights generation and support strategic decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement in analytics processes through innovation and capability building.
Strategic Leadership
- Adopt a continuous improvement mindset and support theidentification ofemerging trends, innovative methodologies, and best practices to continuously elevate the organization’s insights capabilitiesin collaboration with theCoE
- Represent Customer Insights & Engagement inBU-level forums, collaborating with cross-functional partners to shape and influence long-term commercial strategies
- Integrateadvanced analytics (including AI and machine learning) into business processes, fostering a culture of innovation and data-driven decision-making.
- Drive the adoption of standardized reporting frameworks and predictive models to support strategic planning and resource allocation
Leadership & Governance
- This role does not have direct people management responsibilities but may provide direction to juniorteam members or peers and guidevendors on project‑based activities.
- Ensure adherence to all BMS operating policies and governance standards.
Qualifications, Skills &Experience
- Minimum5years of experience in pharmaceutical analyticsor market research, ideally withinoncologyor related therapeutic areas.
- Bachelor’s degreerequired; advanced degree (Master’sor PhD) preferred.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex data sources—primary research, secondary data, and competitive intelligence—into actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Strong stakeholder management and consultative partnership skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams and governance forums.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of delivering clear, concise recommendations
- Demonstrated ability towork independently whilefostering collaboration and ensuring quality control of deliverables
- Proficiencywith industry-standard data sources and tools (e.g., IQVIA, SHS, advanced analytics platforms) and comfortoperatingin ambiguous environments.
- Strong grasp of analytical disciplines such as market research, secondary data analytics, or marketing science, as well as a good general knowledge of how other functions relate and inform one another.
- Ability to connect analytics with overarching business questions and understand the link between brand strategy and analytic insights.
- Demonstrate a continuous commitment to the QC process to ensure quality of deliverables meets or exceeds team standards.

Compensation Overview:
Princeton - NJ - US: $167,540 - $203,013 
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off
- US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)
- Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays
Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.
All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.
*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers.
