Role Description
The Associate Director, Operational Excellence and Enterprise Program Management, will report to the Executive Director, Enterprise Operational Excellence. This position is supports Strategy Management Office colleagues with initiatives that deliver strategy realization. The role involves supporting leaders to define challenges and optimize future state enterprise business processes by leveraging operational excellence methodologies, including lean, six sigma, agile, and /or design thinking. The Associate Director will support the execution of improvement initiatives, including initial assessments, planning, and development of implementation plans. Additionally, the role requires providing subject matter expertise on operational excellence methodologies and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the execution of complex cross-functional enterprise improvement initiatives, including supporting initial assessments, planning, and development of implementation plans.
- Lead initiative workstreams by partnering closely with senior and SMO leaders to develop strong objectives, plans and providing team members guidance. Partners with SMO Leaders and colleagues.
- Provide subject matter expertise on operational excellence methodologies and how to effectively apply them to on-going strategy realization efforts and supports innovation installation.
- Utilize project management skills in work. Keep projects on track and utilize escalation plans and countermeasures when project timelines are at risk.
- Communicate regularly with team leaders, process owners, and other stakeholders about team progress toward goal achievement, critical factors, and obstacles.
- Collect and analyze project data, identify optimization opportunities, develop solutions, and support implementation of improvements.
- Support change management efforts to drive sustainability of process improvements on critical initiatives throughout the organization.
- analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic decision-making. Utilize advanced analytics techniques to drive business performance and operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience
- BA/BS or advanced degree in science or business.
- Minimum of 3 years of industry-related experience in pharma or life sciences, including operational excellence experience (e.g. business process improvements, optimization of ways of working, etc.)
- Minimum 7-10+ years of process improvement experience, including lean/six sigma expertise (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
- Proven track record of developing clear action plans, executing/implementing such plans and leading projects that have delivered value to the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders to drive organizational business outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability in navigating and thriving in complex matrix environments.
- Proficient in communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to drive change and lead teams through organizational transformation.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities
- Preferred: strong proficiency in data analytics tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
