Job Description

We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Associate Director to lead our On-Premise initiatives within the alcohol industry. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in beverage marketing, commercial strategy and growth, and team leadership across New York State.

The Associate Director will be responsible for developing and executing a robust go-to-market strategy, cultivating strong relationships with distributors and key accounts, and driving both volume and brand affinity through high-impact programming and execution.

Reporting to the East Director of Program Performance, this individual will oversee a team and serve as a vital link between brand goals, field teams, agency partners, and distributor stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities/Activities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement the On-Premise commercial strategy aligned with brand goals and growth objectives
  • Serve as a market expert, identifying emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive threats
  • Guide market planning and trade programming to ensure optimal performance and ROI
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to inform agency-wide best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Team & Talent Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of field marketers, advisors, and educators
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, performance, and professional growth
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and career development for direct reports

Client & Distributor Engagement

  • Act as the senior liaison with distributor leadership and key On-Premise accounts
  • Lead quarterly business reviews, communicating performance metrics and strategic recommendations
  • Collaborate with brand and agency partners to translate marketing plans into best-in-class field execution

Commercial & Financial Oversight

  • Own and manage state-level budgets consisting of four different roles, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and achievement of financial targets
  • Evaluate program performance through data analysis, adjusting tactics as needed

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure all field activities adhere to legal, regulatory, and marketing code requirements
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, maintaining the agency’s reputation for integrity and compliance

Innovation & Thought Leadership

  • Drive the adoption of new technologies, tools, and processes to enhance field execution and reporting
  • Lead cross-functional projects to pilot new initiatives and share learnings across the agency.
  • Represent Enthuse at industry events, panels, and client forums
  • Serve as the agency’s subject matter expert on On-Premise trends, competitive activity, and consumer insights

The physical demands of this role require the following:

  • Bending, squatting, crouching and reaching, climbing, kneeling, and stooping including to arrange and display point of sale
  • Frequent lifting and moving cases of product and other objects of 50 pounds or more

Qualifications

  • Must Live in New York
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in the alcohol/beverage industry with a focus on On-Premise marketing or commercial execution, agency, supplier, and field-based management required
  • Proven track record of managing field teams and delivering results across multiple markets
  • Strong understanding of distributor networks, trade marketing, and On-Premise activation
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
  • Data-driven decision-maker with experience managing large budgets and teams
  • Bachelor's degree required (MBA preferred)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and trade tools (e.g., Go Spot Check)
  • Manage administrative tasks with attention to meeting agency compliance guidelines and standards

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this job classification is between $120,000.00-$145,000.00 annually. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related skills and qualifications, length of service, brand program, and geographic location. This job classification is bonus-eligible, with bonus potential subject to applicable bonus plan terms and conditions.
