Position Summary

The Associate Director, Technology Enablement Lead for Law & Policy is responsible for creating and delivering a plan that will support the Law & Policy Vision and Strategic Pillars by identifying, implementing and embedding technology solutions for the Law and Policy organization. This individual will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and optimization of technology solutions that drive operational excellence, collaboration, efficiency and resource optimization and innovation across the global Law & Policy organization. This role partners with members of the Law and Policy Leadership team, Business Insights and Technology, and other business stakeholders to deliver scalable systems, enhance data-driven decision-making, drive connectivity, collaboration and efficiency. The Associate Director will coordinate technology projects, support digital transformation, and champion best practices in technology enablement.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Technology Support

  • Support the development and execution of technology enablement strategies and tools aligned with Law & Policy vision, strategic pillars and priorities.
  • Help create strategic technology roadmap and execution plan for the Law & Policy department.
  • Assist in the selection, deployment, and integration of legal technology platforms (e.g., matter management, e-billing, contract lifecycle management, knowledge management, workflow automation).
  • Contribute to digital transformation initiatives to modernize workflows, automate processes, and improve data analytics capabilities.
  • Track and report on performance metrics and KPIs to assess technology impact and progress.

Systems Implementation & Optimization

  • Coordinate implementation and continuous improvement of technology solutions.
  • Partner with BIT, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure systems are secure, scalable, and compliant with data privacy regulations.
  • Manage technology projects from requirements gathering through deployment, training, and adoption.

Data & Analytics

  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to provide actionable insights for leadership and business partners.
  • Leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities to optimize legal spend.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across sub-teams, regions, and external partners.
  • Drive change management strategies to support adoption of new technologies and processes.
  • Provide training, support, and best practices to maximize user engagement and system effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, CIPP, Lean Six Sigma) preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in technology enablement, digital transformation, or legal operations.
  • Experience implementing technology solutions (including AI) in a complex, global organization—preferably in legal, compliance, or highly regulated environments.
  • Extensive knowledge of legal technology platforms, data analysis, and project management methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through change, influence stakeholders, and support high-performing teams.
  • Strong business judgment, analytical acumen, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across cultures and organizational levels.

Compensation Overview:

Princeton - NJ - US: $162,860 - $197,348 


The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Paid Time Off

  • US Exempt Employees: flexible time off (unlimited, with manager approval, 11 paid national holidays (not applicable to employees in Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico or Rayzebio employees)
  • Phoenix, AZ, Puerto Rico and Rayzebio Exempt, Non-Exempt, Hourly Employees: 160 hours annual paid vacation for new hires with manager approval, 11 national holidays, and 3 optional holidays

Based on eligibility*, additional time off for employees may include unlimited paid sick time, up to 2 paid volunteer days per year, summer hours flexibility, leaves of absence for medical, personal, parental, caregiver, bereavement, and military needs and an annual Global Shutdown between Christmas and New Years Day.

All global employees full and part-time who are actively employed at and paid directly by BMS at the end of the calendar year are eligible to take advantage of the Global Shutdown.

*Eligibility Disclosure: The summer hours program is for United States (U.S.) office-based employees due to the unique nature of their work. Summer hours are generally not available for field sales and manufacturing operations and may also be limited for the capability centers. Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
