Athletic TrainerUIW MissionPosition SummaryThe Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing quality athletic training services primarily to their assigned student-athletes and supports other staff members with athletic training for all student-athletes at University of the Incarnate Word. The Athletic Trainer reports to the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.Essential FunctionsJob DutiesKnowledge Skills and Abilities• Knowledge of the NATA Code of Professional Practice.• Must be organized and detail-oriented.• Ability to communicate and work well with other departments and student athletes.• Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.• Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.Required EducationBachelor's or Master's degree from a CAATE - accredited Athletic Training program.Required Work Experience• No experience required with Master's Degree by date of assignment.• Two (2) years of professional athletic training experience if holding a Bachelor's Degree.Preferred QualificationsMaster's Degree from a CAATE - accredited Athletic Training program or affiliated field.Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations• BOC Certified, Texas licensure or eligible.• Must have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.Work HoursTypical hours Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm with flexibility, based on schedule of assigned sport.
