Job Summary
The Strategic Communications Assistant will be an important part of the UK Athletics social media and digital marketing team, with responsibilities including creating and implementing social media content plans for assigned accounts. Those efforts include working with coaching staffs, developing and implementing communication plans, social media, account administration, creating strategies for fan engagement and attendance and assisting the strategic communications staff’s analytics initiatives. This position is an appointment for 2026-2027 season with the opportunity for a second term.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Passionate, dedicated, hard-working and organized with excellent written/verbal communication skills and a strong desire to pursue a career in athletic communications and marketing fields. Prior experience in communications or marketing at the Division 1 level preferred. Familiar with
NCAA procedures and protocols.

Preferred Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Communications, Marketing, Sports Management or related field. Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays when they fall on certain game days.
