Job Description
Job Summary:
The Biostatistician II will serve as an integral member of a collaborative research team within a large international consortium. Key responsibilities include managing and harmonizing data, performing statistical analyses, providing technical support to project team members, and conducting quality control checks of data management and analysis programs.
Job-Specific Responsibilities:
- Perform data management procedures, including data cleaning and harmonization.
- Conduct statistical analyses using advanced multivariate methods, spline based graphical techniques, and meta-analytic procedures.
- Identify potential data or analytic issues and recommend or implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with epidemiologists, senior statisticians, postdoctoral fellows and doctoral students on manuscripts, abstracts and other scientific publications
- Provide technical support and guidance to project team members
- Conduct quality control checks of analysis programs
- Participate in peer review and critique of reports and analyses; and work collaboratively to resolve technical challenges.
- Collaborate directly with principal investigators, postdoctoral fellows, doctoral students, other biostatisticians, and other researchers with minimal supervision
- Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and expertise
- Performs other duties as needed
PLEASE NOTE: This position has a term appointment of one year from date of hire with the possibility of extension.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a closely-related field required
- 3+ years of related experience required
- Experience with statistical software (such as SAS, Stata, etc.) required
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
- Masters degree
- Experience using SAS is strongly desired

Work Format Details
This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts.
