Job Summary
The University of Kentucky is seeking a Bus Driver to join the Transportation Services team.
In this role, you will provide safe, dependable, and courteous transportation for students, faculty, staff, and visitors across campus and designated charter routes. The Bus Driver plays a vital role in supporting daily campus operations by ensuring passengers reach their destinations safely while maintaining high standards of customer service, vehicle safety, and regulatory compliance.
What You’ll Do
- Operate university buses safely on campus routes and off-campus charters while adhering to traffic laws, safety regulations, and established transportation procedures
- Conduct required post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or equipment concerns promptly
- Maintain route schedules and proper bus spacing to support efficient transportation service
- Assist passengers, including individuals with mobility challenges, and provide accurate route and service information
- Provide professional customer service while interacting with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and community members
- Render first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to passenger emergencies
- Maintain accurate ridership, mileage, fuel, timekeeping, and leave records
- Follow established radio and phone communication procedures and promptly report traffic issues, accidents, emergencies, equipment failures, or passenger concerns
- Support additional Transportation Services operations and tasks as needed

Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- No related experience required
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement
