SUMMARY:

Leads the development, implementation, and overall management of the Credit Union’s comprehensive business continuity strategy and crisis management program. This position is responsible for ensuring the strategy and program includes plans and toolsets to support response, develop resiliency, and enable recovery from events disrupting Credit Union operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Continuity

  • Develop, maintain, execute and continuously improve processes and procedures pertaining to OnPoint’s Business Continuity (BC) program in alignment with regulatory frameworks (e.g. FFIEC, NIST, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain resilience dashboards with AI-generated analytics and KPIs to track recovery readiness; Report program effectiveness and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct and maintain OnPoint's Business Impact Analysis (inventory of functions for all business units and the classification, ranking and dependencies for each).
  • Using data-informed models, analyze impact on and risk to essential business functions or systems to identify acceptable recovery time periods and resource requirements.
  • Serve as 'Subject Matter Expert' to business units to prepare comprehensive recovery plans and procedures for critical business functions.
  • Create and administer BCM related training, testing, and awareness presentations and materials.
  • Partner with Information Technology (IT) and Information Security (IS) to ensure IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) and Incident Response plans align with business priorities and satisfy regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the development and monitoring of all phases of IT/IS management procedures, continuity scenarios, and contingency plans for systems and networks to maintain operations during downtime and/or major events.
  • Serve as the relationship owner for third-party vendors related to the BC program and content manager of related software.
  • Leverage AI-drive tools to enhance the BC program through work process efficiencies, automations, and assessments; Partner with IT, IS and other teams to integrate AI capabilities into BC tools and processes.
  • Support the evaluation of current and prospective external vendors in order to confirm they have appropriate plans to recover from unexpected events, including Service Level Agreement guidelines.

Crisis Management

  • Coordinate closely with incident/crisis partners to develop and maintain appropriate Incident Management, Crisis Management, and other relevant plans (Weather, Earthquake, Pandemic, etc.).
  • Provide coordination, training, and exercise activities to support maintaining incident response capability.
  • Support the management of real events (incidents, crises etc.) 24x7 by facilitating the activation of incident management and crisis management plans in coordination with appropriate Incident and Crisis Management Teams.
  • Work closely with OnPoint Leadership to engage them in the principles of incident and crisis management, maintaining awareness and ensuring a coordinated ability to respond.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Ability):

  • Must have at least 6 years of crisis management, business continuity, contingency of operations, and/or disaster recovery experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Education: Certification in Business Continuity, Emergency Management or similar with an accredited institution (DRI, BCI etc.); Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience using business continuity software (ex: NContinuity, RiskConnect, Preparis, etc) preferred
  • Exceptional understanding of business continuity, crisis management, and incident response principles
  • Strong decision-making ability during both crisis and non-crisis situations
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Effective collaborative and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to process rapid problem resolution, especially around a crisis or serious BC, health & safety, loss prevention or physical security incident
  • Ability to quickly develop a clear understanding of the company’s key functional processes and resources
  • Ability to multi-task, workload, and meet deadlines
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be on-call to ensure a timely response to any event
  • Ability to travel within region of Credit Union operations if neccessary
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, Copilot, PowerBI)
  • Must also demonstrate conduct consistently with our Corporate Values
