Physical Requirements
The physical requirements of this position include: Mobility to work from several locations depending on business needs; occasionally lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to 50lbs; occasionally standing or walking with objects up to 10lbs; regularly sitting at a computer workstation for extended periods of time with regular repetitive motions (such as typing); occasionally dealing with combative/violent people; and occasional job-related travel.
Shift
Primarily Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, with evening, night, and weekend requirements per departmental needs.
Job Summary
UK HealthCare (UKHC) Performance Analytics Center of Excellence (PACE) has posted the Director – Business Intelligence role. This is a critical role in the transformational change at UKHC to enable analytics and business intelligence to function as core infrastructure in support of the strategy: data as a strategic asset in a data-driven organization. Director – Business Intelligence leads the analytics function as part of a team to be adaptive and responsive to the industry changes. Participates as a key resource in the analytics structure and a reporting/analytics subject matter expert as it relates to data warehousing external to Epic (Enterprise Data Warehouse) or internal to Epic (Caboodle/Clarity). Sets the dashboarding and reporting strategy in conjunction with the Chief Data Officer. Evangelizes the need for standardization of metrics and reporting. Actively participates in data governances and spearheads the reporting prioritization through an interdisciplinary governance committees. Keeps the finger on the pulse of evolving technologies. Leads, trains, and manages to the Business Intelligence teams within PACE. The Director must possess a thorough understanding of business intelligence and reporting lifecycle, developing best practices, and relevant technologies. The role will supervisor reporting/BI resources that utilize reporting tools internal to the EMR (Workbench, Slicer/Dicer, Clarity, etc.) and external (i.e., Power BI, SAP products, Tableau, etc.). S/he will also work closely key stakeholders, customers, business analysts, clinical analysts, ‘Hub and Spoke’ developers and other colleagues to leverage reporting/analytics to meet the objectives of the organization. This position reports to the Executive Director of PACE.
Please note: Effective 7/1/2026, this position will be titled Director, Business Intelligence and will report through Information Technology Services in Beyond Blue.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Qualified candidates must have demonstrated experience in decision support, data analysis methodologies such as statistical analysis and/or data modeling and data exploration and visualization. This individual must have knowledge of project management methodologies and practices as well as strong leadership and financial management skills. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Analytics, Business Intelligence and Reporting tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Business Objects, SSRS, etc. as well as an understanding of analysis of structured and unstructured data and of relational databases such as Microsoft SQL. Must be a customer focused, determined leader who possesses strong facilitation, presentation, conflict management, problem solving and communication skills.
