Certified Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technician

Salary + Commission | $60,000–$110,000 Total Earning Potential | Up to $4,000 Sign-On Bonus

Already certified in commercial kitchen exhaust cleaning?

Nelbud is looking for experienced Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning (KEC) professionals with an active Boston and/or Massachusetts KEC certification to join our Boston-area team.

This is not an entry-level training position. We’re looking for experienced technicians who know the industry and are ready for an opportunity with salary plus commission, strong earning potential, and room to advance.

We recognize that experienced KEC professionals bring different levels of technical expertise, certifications, and leadership experience. Qualified candidates may be hired at different levels within Nelbud’s KEC career structure based on experience and qualifications.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salaried position plus commission

  • $60,000–$110,000 total annual earning potential, including salary and commission

What You’ll Do
  • Clean and maintain commercial kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods, ductwork, and exhaust fans

  • Remove grease buildup using pressure washers and specialized cleaning equipment

  • Perform rooftop and ladder work as part of a field-based crew

  • Follow company safety procedures, quality standards, and applicable KEC requirements

  • Identify service needs and communicate findings appropriately

  • Deliver dependable, professional service to customers

  • Support crew operations, training, and successful job completion based on experience and level

  • Identify appropriate service opportunities and contribute to customer relationships

What to Expect
  • Overnight work with varying start times based on customer schedules

What We’re Looking For
  • Active Boston KEC certification and/or Massachusetts KEC certification required

  • Previous professional kitchen exhaust cleaning experience

  • Strong knowledge of commercial KEC equipment, processes, and safety requirements

  • Ability to perform physical labor and work at heights

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a field crew

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

  • Ability to work overnight and varying schedules

  • Reliable, dependable, and professional

  • Strong commitment to quality and safety

  • Strong customer service and communication skills
