Job Summary

This 12-month position is grant-funded through Child Access Means Parent In School (CCAMPIS). The Child Care Program Coordinator reports to the Child Care Director: Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

Job Duties

  • Develop, prepare and implement a parent involvement plan
  • Develop community resource list for families
  • Direct all parent activities including meetings, seminars, and workshops
  • Conduct pre-enrollment visits and parent conferences
  • Conduct home visits when necessary
  • Serve as a liaison for families, staff and director
  • Create monthly newsletter for parents
  • Coordinate parent advisory board
  • Attend related community events relating to families
  • Establish and maintain parent resource areas
  • Make observations and document needs of families
  • Provide or coordinate parenting classes and training on various topics
  • Support classroom teachers, staff and overall campus childcare programs in an administrative capacity
  • Process and verify CCAMPIS applications
  • Monitor student adherence to subsidy policies and procedures
  • Maintain a CCAMPIS participant tracking database
  • Create monthly invoices and track payments
  • Coordinate data collection with internal and external partners (e.g., Financial Aid Office, Institutional Research)
  • Prepare reports for the United States Department of Education (USDOE)
  • Prepare and disseminate outreach/resource materials
  • Provide CCAMPIS student parents with advisement registration
  • Conduct CCAMPIS orientation meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social, Psychology or Education
  • Experience in developing and maintaining and coordinating parent events
  • Applicants not possessing these qualities should apply if they believe their training and experience will enable them to perform the work successfully

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Professional knowledge of social services methods
  • Knowledge of psychological and biological needs of children
  • Knowledge of parenting strategies and family relations
  • Awareness of appropriate cultural practices of various cultures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents, children, staff and others
  • Ability to organize events
  • Ability to make decisions both within and without the guidelines of established procedures
