Job Summary

The Von Allmen School of Accountancy at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY seeks to hire one or more full-time non-tenure eligible Assistant Professors in the clinical title series. This is a renewable 9-month position with an anticipated start date of August 2026. A terminal degree (e.g., a PhD or DBA) in accounting or a related field and professional licensure (e.g., CPA, CMA, CFA) is required. Previous teaching experience is desirable but not required. The ideal candidate would also demonstrate significant professional growth in instruction and experiential learning and provide evidence of professional recognition. The primary job responsibilities include teaching 6 to 8 courses per academic year at the undergraduate and graduate level, with preference given to those well-equipped to teach in multiple areas, meaningfully contribute to our graduate-level teaching needs, and fulfilling the service needs related to various programs in the school. An active research agenda is not required; however, clinical faculty do have the option to devote a portion of their effort toward research activities, which includes practitioner and accounting education-oriented publications. The Director will determine the number of courses and other assigned duties based on the candidate’s experience and areas of expertise. The assignment may be adjusted annually based on needs and performance. The anticipated initial Distribution of Effort will be 60-80% teaching and 20-40% service.
