The Clinical Instructor is responsible for supervising Radiologic Technology students in the clinical setting and/or providing positioning lab instruction.

  • Demonstrates and teaches patient care in clinical settingsto radiologic technology students and instructs students in principals of radiography.
  • Maintains and enforces knowledge of program mission, policies and goals.
  • Understands clinical objectives and clinical evaluation system
  • Evaluates student progress and clinical competence weekly through verbal and written feedback.
  • Participates in the assessment process, as appropriate.
  • Provides students with clinical instruction and supervision.
  • Demonstrates and teaches principles of radiography, radiation safety and patient care.
  • Directs and assists students to any specialized units/rotations within the hospital.
  • Supervises students while performing patient care and performing competencies.
  • Exhibits a positive professional attitude toward students and the teaching process.
  • Utilizes positive interpersonal communication skills.
  • Provides a positive role model for students.
  • Conducts weekly film critique and anatomy review for students.
  • Assigns specific radiology examinations for student completion.
  • Maintains all records of students' clinical experiences, evaluations and competencies.
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with program policy.
  • Cooperates and coordinates with all medical personnel in evaluating and improving teaching and radiologic technology practices.
  • Serves as a liaison between the college and the clinical site.
  • Maintains open communication and reports any and all concerns related to student activity and progress to the Clinical Coordinator, as soon as possible.
  • The instructor must demonstrate the ability to respond to and work with diverse and varied student populations and support the mission of the College.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED:

  • Minimum Associates degree in Radiologic Technology from an ARRT accredited institution.
  • Must have current experience, 3 years minimum.
  • Must be a current member of ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists).
  • Must be current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must have current Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist (RT) license.
  • All candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Hourly Rate: $63.25 per hour.
The clinical instructor schedule is based on clinical need but would not exceed 24 hours per week.
The schedule runs for 15 weeks during the fall semester and spring semesters only.
