Job Summary

The Markey Cancer Center (MCC) is seeking a Clinical Research Manager, a senior staff position leading MCC’s Precision Medicine Center (PMC) and Phase I/II trial activity.

This position will provide hiring and supervision of all PMC staff, including clinical research nurses and clinical research coordinators assigning specific protocols to appropriate staff and ensuring staff are trained and performing their duties in compliance with standards set by federal and local agencies, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and local Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong nursing background, preferably with direct experience in Phase I/II clinical research, ability to work independently and direct/lead staff who are performing study coordination, screening of potential patients for trial eligibility, presenting trial concepts and details, and participating in the informed consent process.

This position will work with MCC faculty scientific leadership and administrative leadership in planning and coordinating strategies for increasing patient enrollment, improving efficiency, training personnel, and identifying new research opportunities.



This position is eligible for a fully on-site work arrangement.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Comprehensive understanding of related scientific and clinical terminology. Ability to independently identify and problem-solve complex/non-routine problems. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, strong oral/written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills required. Demonstrate leadership, personnel management, task prioritization, and presentation skills. Computer and web-based application proficiency to include designing forms and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Education/Experience

Master’s degree and at least 6 years of clinical or clinical research experience. Research certification (SOCRA, ACRP, etc.) preferred.
