Cloud Engineer

The Role
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for onboarding Java applications into the Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service on AWS. Additionally, debugging and subsequent resolution is of high importance. Below are role expectation:
- Excellent understanding of containerization and Kubernetes concepts
- Excellent AWS cloud knowledge and EKS cluster knowledge
- Expertise in helm package manager and writing helm charts for applications
- Expertise in YAML and Go Template
- Good understanding of Kubernetes health check probes and restart criteria
- Excellent in using Kubectl to manage/debug running containers in EKS
- Understanding of java applications and ability to debug deployment issues within the Java applications
- Work closely with business partners on business critical initiatives
- Prepare reports about the product/product component’s readiness for release to users
- Review and recommend improvements to existing deployment procedures
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required
- At least 10 years of software engineering or cloud engineering experience
- Extensive experience with core Java Technologies
- Extensive experience in EKS and AWS
- Hands on experience with one or more observability tools(Data-dog, Splunk, Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, OpenTelemetry, etc)
- You have the spirit and willingness to contribute to org level innovation
- You know Agile methodologies or iterative development processes
- You take ownership in your work
- You are a mentor, and phenomenal teammate
- Experience in Capital markets or Crypto Currency specifically with exposure to Trading
- Experience of FIX protocols or other binary protocols in a trading platform

The Fidelity Digital Asset Trading Team is responsible for platform services and APIs that manage trading of crypto currency. This platform contains a crossing engine, smart router, market data aggregator among other trading modules running in low latency and high throughput environment.

We also value the benefits that working offsite offers associates. Most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of every other week in a Fidelity office.
The base salary range for this position is $75/hr - $95/hr.
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate's relevant experience, and other factors.
