TITLE: Club Operations Manager

POSITION STATUS Full Time

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

LOCATION: Indianapolis, IN

REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities and Managing Director of Tennis

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some weekends when necessary.

ABOUT THE POSITION:

As a Club Operations Manager at the Midwest Tennis Center, you will be responsible for making sure the members have a top notch experience. You’ll provide excellent customer service, manage bookings, process payments, and help create a welcoming atmosphere. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, friendly, and passionate about tennis and hospitality.

THE ROLE:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the front office, locker rooms, and all other amenities
  • Ensure that facilities are maintained to high standards, including cleaning, repairs, and general upkeep.
  • Ensure all equipment and materials are stocked and functioning properly.
  • Foster strong relationships with current and prospective members, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
  • Respond to member inquiries, resolve complaints, and address any issues regarding club facilities or services.
  • Manage membership renewals, orientations, and new member sign-ups.
  • Supervise and manage a team of full-time, part-time, and seasonal employees, and facility staff.
  • Organize promotional events and open houses to attract new members and increase visibility.
  • Identify opportunities to expand membership, enhance services, and improve facility offerings.
  • Regularly assess the performance of the club and make recommendations for improvements.

SPECIAL PROJECTS:

  • Represent the club at community functions and industry events to build relationships with key stakeholders.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills- Required
  • CPR Certified and AED knowledgeable within the first 30 days of hire - Required
  • Previous experience managing a tennis club or sports facility. - Preferred
  • Current or previous experience in directly managing a team (2+ years or more) - Required
  • Experience with membership management systems and software. - Preferred
  • Commitment to delivering a high-quality experience for members. - Required
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. - Required
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex situations. - Required
