Bring your setup skills to a team that puts them to work.

SIS is looking for a CNC Setup Specialist who can independently set up machines, verify part quality, and keep production running reliably.

This hands-on machining role combines machine setups, regular production runs, and troubleshooting. Youll prepare equipment for assigned jobs, verify that setups produce parts to specification, and operate machines throughout production. Youll stay hands-on with production while contributing your setup and troubleshooting skills.

Youll work with operators, Operations Specialists, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues and maintain safe, consistent machining processes.

About SIS

Founded in 1989, SIS is part of EIS Fabrication Solutions. We manufacture precision components from high-performance plastics, composites, and other non-metallic materials for industries including power generation, aerospace and defense, medical equipment, and oil and gas.

Our work ranges from prototypes to production runs, with components used in electrical insulation, power generation equipment, medical imaging systems, and other demanding applications.

What youll do

  • Independently set up and operate CNC equipment, including tooling, fixtures, workholding, and offsets.
  • Safely prove out approved programs, inspect initial parts, and obtain required approval before continuing production.
  • Complete production runs, monitor part quality and tool condition, and troubleshoot routine setup and machining issues.
  • Make authorized program and cutting-parameter adjustments, and create simple programs at the machine where required by the assigned work area.
  • Help operators understand job requirements, maintain setup documentation, and escalate complex issues to the Production Lead, Operations Specialist, Engineering, Quality, or Maintenance.

What youll bring

  • CNC machining experience that includes independently completing setups, verifying initial parts, and running production jobs.
  • Strong setup and operating skills in at least one machine family, such as mills, lathes, or routers.
  • The ability to interpret blueprints, applicable GD&T, CNC programs, and setup documentation.
  • Working knowledge of tooling, workholding, offsets, cutting parameters, precision measurement, and safe program prove-out.
  • Clear communication, sound troubleshooting judgment, and willingness to perform both setups and standard production runs.

Our equipment includes Haas and Smart mills and lathes, along with KOMO, Heian, and Homag routers. Relevant equipment experience is helpful. Experience machining plastics or composites is a plus; candidates with comparable CNC experience in other materials are encouraged to apply.

Why join us?

Take ownership of setups, contribute directly to production, and continue developing your technical capabilities. Youll work alongside experienced technical resources and help operators build confidence and consistency on the floor, with opportunities to develop toward more advanced troubleshooting and mentoring responsibilities.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
