Job Synopsis
MCC seeks a detail-oriented and creative person to serve as the Communications Associate. This support role, with its diverse range of tasks, will aid the work of MCC Communications with a strong emphasis on event promotion, design, church and constituency relations support, internal communication and logistics. The position plays an essential role in inviting audiences to support MCC by praying, learning, giving, serving and advocating. A collaborative approach to this position is important, given the frequent need for teamwork within and outside of the department. The position is hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week spent working in the MCC East Coast Office in Ephrata, PA and as needed for events and gatherings. The role will support MCC East Coast regional communications 75% of the time and MCC Great Lakes regional communications 25% of the time. The position will be supervised directly by the EC Communications Director and will be assigned tasks by the GL Communications Director while being immersed in the MCC U.S. Communicators Network.Job Details

- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree
- High comfort level with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word and Excel); proficiency in basic computer productivity applications (Outlook, Teams) and database software (DPO)
- Graphic design experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Event coordination experience or transferable skills
- Ability to carry out multiple priorities within a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and working familiarity with writing for different platforms and media
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills
- Creative, flexible, and detail-oriented
- Working familiarity with MCC or similar organization

Preferred:
- 1-3 years relevant Communications experience
- Familiarity with web content management systems (CMS) and intranet
- Email marketing software (Campaign Monitor) experience
- Photography
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Social media (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook)

Key Responsibilities
- MCC EAST COAST (EC) REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT (75%)
- MCC GREAT LAKES (GL) REGIONAL COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT (25%)
- Create regular email marketing campaigns, online registration forms and update web content. Create occasional social media content for various platforms.
- Design print newsletters, flyers, handouts, one-page reports, social media graphics, PowerPoint presentations, bulletin inserts and other print and digital marketing materials
- Serve as photographer or collect short-form video content (vertical cell phone video clips) for social media when needed
- Write occasional articles for print and web
- Upload photos and detailed captions and program information into Media Space, MCC’s photo library
- Serve as the point person in responding to and funneling requests for MCC speakers, display tables, materials and resources from individuals and constituent groups, including churches, conferences, schools and retirement communities
- Serve as point person for logistics surrounding constituent groups’ annual conference gatherings. This includes compiling annual reports, finding & registering staff representatives for gatherings, gathering display materials and compiling post-gathering reflections and reports.
- Research church and constituency groups and make strategic engagement recommendations to MCC staff
- Speak and/or represent MCC at events as needed
- Track church engagement and update church and conference contact information in MCC’s donor database (Donor Perfect Online)
EVENT PROMOTION AND PREPARATION
- Support MCC staff across various departments with promotion and planning for inclusive and welcoming events
- Serve as point person for preparing and gathering items for customized MCC displays and exhibits for internal and external events
- Provide logistical support for storytelling scheduling and other speaking engagement tours
- Provide communications resources and basic audio/video tech support for in-person MCC East Coast board meetings twice a year
- Coordinate Spanish translation for written promotional resources

INTERNAL COMMUNICATION & LOGISTICS- Coordinate and distribute orders of MCC communications materials and giveaways to MCC staff and offices throughout the East Coast region
- Ensure smooth flow of interoffice communication, including communication with other MCC offices. This includes processing mail and compiling and sending a weekly internal email newsletter.
- Ensure MCC communications materials, giveaway items, displays and office supplies are stocked. Serve as point person to ensure a tidy and welcoming office and help colleagues find what they need.
- Serve as point person for helping colleagues with basic IT issues (Wi-Fi, printer, TV) in the office and referring staff to IT when needed
- Schedule meetings and take minutes as needed
Supervision:No direct supervision responsibilities.
Travel expectations: Travel up to 10% within surrounding states
