TITLE: Community Tennis Coordinator

POSITION STATUS Full Time

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

LOCATION: Indianapolis, Indiana

REPORTS TO: Junior Community Tennis Manager

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This may include weekend work when necessary.

WHY JOIN OUR TEAM?

This position will support the Junior Community Tennis Manager with the implementation of ongoing programs and initiatives, while also collaborating with TSR field staff and district personnel. The role will serve as a key liaison for community-based organizations including schools, Community Tennis Associations, and Parks and Recreation departments to facilitate and address their tennis-related needs.

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON:

  • Support and assist the Junior Community Tennis Manager with program operations for Swing Hit & Ace including equipment orders, inventory management and order processing.
  • Assist community tennis providers on USTA Serve Tennis software.
  • Work in conjunction with the marketing department to identify new markets and areas for community tennis opportunities.
  • Provide district support in areas of community tennis with players, providers and facilities. (i.e. team challenges, red ball for all, community events, on court training, etc.)
  • Assist with planning and organizing Midwest attendance at various conferences and conventions. This may include applying to be a vendor, handling application and payment, and supporting staff needs prior to the event. (SHAPE, Parks and Rec, etc.)
  • Complete administrative tasks, including reporting and data management for staff/districts.
  • School program liaison between USTA national and the section office. Collect, sort and submit school partnership agreements to USTA National.
  • Process, track, and manage community tennis grant offerings and payouts.

SPECIAL PROJECTS:

  • Assist Community Tennis staff with meeting prep for USTA Midwest Annual Meeting and Leadership Meeting. This will include creating presentations, managing print needs and supporting committee chairs.
  • Assist with Tennis on Campus Midwest Section Championship tournament prep. This will include managing team entries, team forms, supply orders and other event logistics.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • High school diploma or GED is required. Four year college degree is preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of the game of tennis is required.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Tech-savvy, with proficiency in Google Suite and ability to use data tools (Kinetica & Quorum) and learn USTA software (Serve Tennis).
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills with an attention to detail.
  • A team player who can also work independently.

Travel required less than 10%

Travel destinations: USTA Midwest section meeting locations, district offices or training/conference/event locations across the section.
