Job DescriptionPURPOSE AND SCOPE:
The Coordinator I, Human Resources Support Services will support the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of Local Human Resources (Local HR) operations across assigned campuses. The Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the Form I-9 process, maintaining and updating Local HR standard operating procedures, and leading internal Local HR process audits. The Coordinator will provide operational HR support and extended backup coverage to multiple Local HR offices, promoting standardized practices while supporting day-to-day Local HR support and service.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains, updates, and documents all Local HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal business processes
- Oversees and supports the Local HR Form I-9 process to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal regulations
- Leads and coordinates routine internal Local HR audits to assess compliance, accuracy, and consistency of Local HR processes and report any updates or findings to the Project Lead and/or Local HR Leader
- Provides HR operational support to multiple Local HR offices within assigned campuses
- Serves as an extended backup resource during Local HR staff absences, peak workload periods, or vacancies
- Assists with Local HR transactions and processes as assigned, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Promotes consistency of Local HR practices across campuses
- Serves as a resource to Local HR teams by answering process-related questions and providing clarification on procedures
- Assists with compiling reports, dashboards, or summaries related to Local HR quality and compliance
- Identifies and frames human resources concerns, solve problems, and create action plans in collaboration with appropriate resources; Serves as back-up to Local HR Leader when needed for matters authorized to handle
- Serves as a partner for hiring managers and employees by providing information and training on human resources policies and practices; Researches problems and recommend solutions
- Interprets policies and procedures and assists employees with issues involving routine problems. Provides advice and counsel on first-line employee relations issues; escalates complex issues to appropriate resources; assists employees with human resources policies and practices. If needed, escalates issues to the Local HR Leader.
- Acts as liaison between employees and Benefits, Payroll, Compensation departments, and State Agencies (ERS/ TRS)
- Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
- Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree or higher and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience using PeopleSoft
- Experience in higher education human resources
- Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or higher
Hiring salary range is $38,761 - $44,575.
Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
