Job Description

The Corporate Tax Accountant supports the company’s tax provision, filings, and controls for a newly public environment. This role prepares schedules and workpapers, assists with federal and state compliance, and partners with Accounting during the close process to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a solid foundation in corporate tax, who is eager to continue learning and developing within a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Tax Provision (ASC 740) Support

·Prepare quarterly/annual provision workpapers (ETR, current/deferred, VA, stock-based comp, M-1 adjustments).

·Tie out to the tax footnote in the 10-Q/10-K and maintain organized, audit-ready files.

·Assist with return-to-provision analyses and related reconciliations.

Compliance & Estimates

·Assist with preparation of U.S. federal and multi-state income/franchise returns, extensions, and quarterly estimates.

·Maintain the tax calendar and support nexus/registration tracking and registration requirements.

·Help respond to IRS/state notices and audit inquiries.

SOX & Close Support

·Operate and document SOX 404 key controls for tax processes.

·Prepare journal entries and reconcile tax accounts during monthly/quarterly close.

·Provide PBCs and support external audit requests.

Projects & Cross-Functional

·Assist with tax research and basic modeling for areas such as §174 (R&D amortization), §163(j), §162(m), NOLs/credits, and equity comp impacts.

·Coordinate with Accounting, SEC Reporting, and external advisors as needed.

·Provide support on indirect tax matters (sales & use/property) as assigned and other ad hoc projects as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

·2-4 years of corporate income tax experience; Big4 or other nationally-recognized firms experience preferred.

·Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field; CPA or CPA track preferred.

·Solid understanding of corporate tax compliance, including federal and multi-state filings.

·Exposure to ASC 740 (income tax provision) concepts and application.

·Proficient in Excel; experience with OneSource Income Tax, RIA Checkpoint, Workday, or similar tools is a plus.

·Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working to public-company timelines.

·Collaborative team player who values open communication, learning, and building strong cross-functional partnerships.

$70,000 - $90,000
