A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.Purpose of PositionSummary: The Creative Content & Messaging Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and sharing the voice and accomplishments of the Woody L. Hunt College of Business. This position is responsible for developing compelling, creative, and strategically aligned content that communicates the College's initiatives, successes, and values to both internal and external audiences. From highlighting student achievements and faculty research to promoting cross-border initiatives and corporate academies, this individual will serve as the storyteller for the College.This position requires exceptional storytelling skills and the ability to distill complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives. The manager will work in close alignment with Hunt Creative and UTEP's Division of Marketing and Communications to ensure brand consistency and strategic coherence across all materials. This individual will also initiate and develop newsletters, digital content, and reports, including those tied to AACSB continuous improvement and reaccreditation efforts.Essential FunctionsContent Creation and Storytelling• Develop high-quality written content that highlights the achievements of students, faculty, and staff.• Write feature stories, press releases, and news items that promote the College's initiatives, such as the corporate academies and U.S. Mexico trade and commerce programs.• Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and craft compelling stories for a variety of audiences.Publications and Reports• In close collaboration with Hunt Creative, produce all College newsletters (internal and external) and annual and quarterly reports.• Manage the content and editorial process for the College's continuous improvement reports for AACSB accreditation, in coordination with the Dean and accreditation team.• Ensure all written reports are professional, accurate, and aligned with the College's mission and strategic goals.Social Media and Digital Communication• Lead the creation and curation of content for all College-affiliated social media platforms, ensuring consistent and strategic messaging.• Work closely with Hunt Creative and the Division of Marketing and Communications to maintain consistency with university-wide branding, tone, and digital strategy.• Monitor engagement and performance of digital content and adjust strategies accordingly.Collaboration and Strategic Communication• Collaborate with Hunt Creative to develop a consistent pipeline of content targeting both internal and external audiences.• Serve as a liaison between the Dean's Office and the Division of Marketing and Communications to coordinate strategic communication efforts, campaigns, and media outreach.• Partner with departments, programs, and student organizations to source stories and updates.• Ensure all written and visual materials reflect the College's identity while aligning with broader University communications standards and protocols.Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.Complies with all State and University policies.Other duties may be assigned.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Required Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.andExperience: Three years of experience in content creation, writing, or strategic communications, preferably in higher education or a mission-driven organization.Applicants Must DemonstrateExceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.Strong organizational and project management abilities with keen attention to detail.Proficiency with content creation tools and platforms (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, social media platforms).Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree in a related field.Experience writing for both academic and corporate audiences.Understanding of higher education operations and the value of business school accreditation.Knowledge of bilingual or cross-cultural communication (especially related to the U.S.-Mexico region) is a plus.Additional InformationThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
