Job Summary
Responsible for supporting all marketing efforts for the college, including collaborating with the Director of Marketing to develop and execute strategic marketing plans and tactics. This position specializes in graphic design, brand management, and social media strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Related duties may be assigned.
  • Maintain the visual integrity of the college brand across all marketing and communication materials
  • Design, develop, produce, and maintain high-quality visual materials for print, digital, and social
  • Communicate effectively with RVC staff and faculty to understand projects, their intended outcomes and associated deadlines.
  • Use design and marketing knowledge to determine the best approach for projects (including format, approach, and content) to meet objectives and remain within budget restrictions.
  • Share best practices and design knowledge with the team and campus departments to leverage the use of brand and style guides.
  • Assess and prioritize project needs for efficient use of time, keeping project quality high, and deadlines and budgets met.
  • Coordinate specs for print bidding, prepare and send files electronically to in-house printer and outside vendors.
  • Create accessible, diverse, and inclusive content (i.e. captions, alt text, color contrast)
  • Work with the Director of Marketing to establish and use consistent design standards to reinforce the RVC brand in all designed medium
  • Create and maintain appropriate naming, organization, and archiving procedures for project assets
  • Create, manage, and coordinate content for the college’s social media channels, including posting/scheduling content using social scheduling tools, copywriting for social, and responding to posts/messages when appropriate, while reinforcing the brand and content strategy
  • Serve as an administrator of college social media channels
  • Source and edit user-generated content for social media
  • Maintain an understanding of updates on digital landscape software and social channels
  • Stay on top of the latest programs, trends, and best practices pertaining to graphic design, print production, digital assets, and social media, including the legalities of intellectual property and copyright related to the production of marketing and communications for RVC.
  • Be a cross-trained member of the team.
  • Serve on college committees as appropriate and assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in graphic design or related field, and 2-3 years’ experience working in graphic design.
  • Proficiency in a range of graphic design and illustration software, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles and print production processes
  • Advanced knowledge of social media channels and trends.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s preferred
  • Ability to work with photo, video, and/or audio equipment desired
  • Knowledge of photo formats, resolution, manipulation and enhancement, and cropping for optimal quality.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented.
  • Self-motivated and able to execute high-quality work under tight deadlines with minimal oversight.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee typically works in an office. Occasionally, the employee will need to travel in-district. The schedule may vary depending on college events and production schedules.
