Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the global leader in payment solutions for Small, Medium (SME) and Global and Large (G&L) enterprises. The GCS team enables businesses globally to pay for and finance what they need to grow their businesses through a suite of payment and lending products, solutions for travel and everyday business spending, cross border payments, global currency solutions, and business financing.

The objective of the GCS Control Management Issues, Events & Remediation team is to ensure timely identification, response, and resolution of risk events and issues to minimize impact, as well as to prevent recurrence through effective remediation and lesson learning.

The Data Analyst, GCS Issues, & Events will:

  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from core systems to identify risk exposures and compliance gaps
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for partners and leaders across varying levels of seniority and communication channels
  • Develop analytical reporting frameworks and dashboards that monitor operational risk, Issues, Operational Risk Events, and regulatory requirements, while surfacing trends, outliers, and emerging themes
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., Basel III, CCAR, AML, KYC, GDPR) by ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timeliness of data submissions
  • Partner with business, compliance, and audit teams to analyze Issue and Operational Risk Event activity, trends, root causes, and thematic patterns
  • Deliver insights and recommendations to senior leadership to strengthen risk controls and improve compliance posture
  • Work with data engineering teams to improve data governance, lineage, and quality standards across risk and compliance reporting systems
  • Maintain reconciliations between system of record (SOR) and downstream BI tools (Tableau, Power BI), flagging discrepancies in status, ownership, and milestone completion
  • Proficient in utilization of generative AI and large language and learning models (LLM) with the ability to apply it to the Issue Management framework

Required Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of experience as a Data Analyst within banking, financial services, or regulatory environments
  • Strong knowledge of operational risk, issue management, event management, or control frameworks in a regulated environment
  • Proven experience with SQL and data management in regulated environments
  • Expert in reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) with a focus on compliance dashboards
  • Proficiency with statistical and analytical tools (Python, Anaconda, R, SAS) for modeling and risk analysis
  • Strong understanding of banking regulations and compliance frameworks (e.g., Basel III, CCAR, AML, GDPR)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical risk analysis into actionable business insights

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field. Master’s preferred
  • Familiarity with Issue Management Policy frameworks (e.g., definitions of Issue vs. Event, Corrective Action Plan requirements, Impact Rating scales)
  • Exposure to regulatory technology (RegTech) tools and data governance platforms
  • Knowledge of stress testing methodologies and predictive risk modeling
  • Experience with cloud-based data environments (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, GCP, Azure, Cornerstone, Lumi)
  • Experience with Archer GRC or similar issue/event management systems (IRM, OpenPages, MetricStream) — ability to query and interpret system-of-record data
  • Ability and understanding on how to develop and implement generative AI & LLM tools

Salary Range: $78,000.00 to $124,750.00 annually + bonus + benefits
