Data Management and Accountability Specialist

Posting Description

This position is to be hired where Habitat for Humanity International can legally hire and the applicant can legally work within the LAC Region, and on a local contract in the country of hiring.

Job Description


Implement robust data management systems and accountability frameworks for the organization's programs and projects, collaborating closely with programmatic and technical teams. This role includes providing data-driven strategic analysis and advice, strengthening institutional capacity for strategy implementation and evidence based decision-making, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge management, aligned with the HFHI 50x50 Strategy.

Essential Duties

  • Manages regional data from the global measurement tool and ensures data quality, coordinating with national offices and headquarters for data analysis and decision-making.
  • Maintains and continuously improves the LAC Regional Data Observatory.
  • Oversees data processing for the different assessments and studies carried out within the region, where appropriate, across both the national offices and area office.
  • Establishes a clear link between monitoring, evaluation, and learning to ensure efficient and relevant data production that informs decision-making and generates evidence of regional impact.
  • Leads the implementation and monitoring of the regional Complaint and Feedback Mechanism.
  • Manages the evaluation system for area office events (e.g., workshops, conferences, and seminars).
  • Contributes to global knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Key aspects of cross-functional responsibilities in a global non-profit include: Strategic planning, program design and implementation, communication and branding, monitoring and evaluation, and compliance and risk management.

Minimum Requirements
Education
  • At least bachelor’s degree in statistics and/or data science/big data.
Years of Related Experience
  • At least 3 years.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of platforms and technologies for data collection, learning and collaboration.
  • Proficiency in R and/or an equivalent programming language, as well as data visualization in Power BI
  • Knowledge of descriptive and inferential statistics for the analysis of the impact of social projects.
  • Knowledge of quantitative methodologies.
  • Capacities to balance innovative thinking with practical learning solutions and knowledge sharing.
  • Ability to work as an internal consultant, negotiate results and scope, and as part of different teams.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English, with very good oral and written communication.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.

Preferred Requirements
  • Experience and interest in social sciences and social development.
Highly Proficient
  • Experience in the design and implementation of complaint and feedback mechanisms with target populations.
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
