Sr. Database Developer
Position is in Rhode Island Only.
Candidates must work in 900 Smithfield, Rhode Island five days every other week.
Pay range: $70-95/hr
Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
The Purpose of This Role
Lead Database Developer for the Workplace Investment team will be responsible for crafting and driving implementation of applications/ framework using Oracle, SQL Server, Informatica, Control-M.
We are looking for a strong oracle developer to contribute to database applications development within data management space. Excellent coding and performance tuning skills adhering to established database development standards are critical to succeed in this role. The candidate must have sound communication skills, be able to comprehend business requirements, translate them into technical design specs and apply the same in the development process. We are seeking a highly motivated and responsive team player with the ability to multi-task, be a technical lead, and work under minimal supervision. Primary Responsibilities: Database Development, primarily in Oracle PL/SQL; Must be strong in writing Complex Queries; Writing PL/SQL functions and packages; The ability to Diagnose data issues and performance matrix; ETL, specifically Informatica, experience also strongly preferred. Education: A Bachelors degree in computer science is highly desirable. Knowledge/ courses done in finance, business, math, or accounting is advantageous.

  • Your knowledge of Containerization and cloud deployment related to Database.
  • Ability to build communication and rapport with partners, stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt in a changing environment and be effective in many different business settings.
  • Ability to take initiative, define vision for improvement of products, and execute at high level of quality

The Workplace Investing (WI) Platform technology group within Fidelity Investments is tasked to develop and maintain technology solutions supporting Fidelity's Defined Contribution (DC) business. The platform serves plan sponsors in the configuration of their DC plans and operates in a mixed-technology environment (Java, Spring, Angular, Oracle, ETL) across multiple tiers (web server, app server, DB).
The Expertise we’re looking for
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar subject.
  • Certification in relevant technologies is preferred.
Skills/Knowledge and experience:
Languages: Oracle PL/SQL , Informatica ETL (Mandatory)
Databases : Good understanding and experience on RDBMS (Mandatory)
Methodology : Agile
Others : Other database like SQL Server and Sybase (Advantage)
