The Role

As a Senior Consultant in Workplace Consulting (Compliance), you will be consulting with large defined contribution and/or defined benefit clients on strategies to align retirement benefit programs with business objectives and goals under overarching ERISA or other regulatory requirements. This includes facilitating sophisticated strategic discussions with clients to understand their business and employee benefit programs, as well as project development, implementation, and delivery. Additionally, you may be involved with creative solutioning for new and prospective clients to the firm and growing existing client relationships. While working in a team-focused and dynamic work environment, you will have an opportunity to apply your skills to help engage associates and encourage a satisfying and productive work atmosphere.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 12+ years of experience in retirement benefits industry and/or consulting to large companies
  • Juris Doctorate (ERISA specialty) or similar credentials (e.g., ASPPA CPC)
  • Skills required for the role:
  • Well-practiced knowledge of qualified Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit plans as well as non-qualified retirement design and compliance/taxation issues, legislative and regulatory requirements (ERISA/IRS/DOL)
  • Experience with drafting and/or reviewing qualified and non-qualified plan documents, SPDs, and other required employee benefit plan material. Similar experience with health and welfare plans would also be a plus
  • Experience with IRS/DOL correction programs and submissions
  • Outstanding partnership skills and ability to inventively influence others across groups
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$185,000 per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
