JOB SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Summery

  • The Dental Insurance Specialist will be responsible for the overall AR claim follow up.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review, and transmit claims using electronic and manual (paper) methods.
  • Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness; obtain missing information as needed.
  • Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.
  • Knowledge and ability to correct Medicaid claims via appropriate portal or DDE.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline billing process by analyzing frequent or repeated claim edits/errors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Courses in Insurance Dental Billing and Dental terminology preferred
  • 1+ year of Dental aging follow-up experience, including familiarity with third-party healthcare claims.
  • Dentrix experience preferred
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle process
  • Strong understanding of Dental terminology
  • Intermediate mathematics skills (calculating charges, co-payments, deductibles, and reconciling financial data)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask to ensure timeliness of all deliverables
  • Familiarity with insurance carrier claims resolution
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Regular eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required to operate office equipment. The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions is required. At times, Team Members are subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, Team Member must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. Team Member may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
