The Role
Fidelity's Institutional Wealth Management Services (IWMS) is seeking an experienced architect in Data & Digital Strategies to support IWMS business product areas and deliver our next generation data platforms as the organization modernizes to cloud platforms. The IWMS Platform Data, Reporting and Integrations domain is comprised of a diverse group of product areas, squads and deployment teams that create, enhance, and manage several key platform capabilities that support Fidelity’s Custody and Clearing client base. You will be working across Products, business units and enterprise technology teams to partner with business leaders, architecture, and engineering to influence our data strategy and deliver these foundational capabilities. You will be responsible for developing IWMS domain knowledge, data architecture, data blueprints, hands on data design/modeling, data movement, Analytics and AI/ML driven data architecture/decisions.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- Education – Bachelors or Master's degree required.
- 10+ years of professional technology experience with a minimum 5+ years of architecture experience in Data, Databases and Analytics and experience in AI/ML space is plus.
- Demonstrate strategic thinking and ability to analyze business domain, direction and problems, understand long term vision and risk in developing strategic technical solutions.
- Ability to formulate Data & AI/ML/LLM Strategy and Integration. Conceptual Architecture and work with development teams to execute the strategy.
- Experience with data management practice including data integration, data governance & security, data warehousing, data analytics, data models, metadata management and data quality
- Strong understanding to various architecture and patterns such as API and Microservices architecture, Event Driven Architecture, client-server patterns etc
- Experience in building prototypes, driving Pilot and PoCs, and exploring new solutions and options
- Experience working on RDBMS databases such as Oracle, Postgres SQL and Cloud databases such as Snowflake
- Experience working on low latency NoSql databases such as DynamoDB, Aerospike or Redis
- Experience developing application and data solutions leveraging cloud platforms (AWS/Azure, AWS EKS, EMR, EC2, S3 etc.)
- Experience in Reporting and Business Intelligence tools like PowerBI, Tableau etc.
- Experience in designing, testing and deploying machine learning frameworks to rapidly iterate on model development & deployment
- Experience working with data engineers and data scientists to implement AI/ML models and deploying them on ML platform, pipelines and others
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills with ability to communicate complex designs and solutions to non-technical and highly technical audiences alike.
The Team
The IWMS Architecture team provides profound technical expertise to the broader Engineering community, offering mentorship in data and solution architecture, as well as cross-organizational technical architecture guidance (enterprise architecture). As the Director of Data Architecture, you will lead the data solutions, collaborating with the Solution and Enterprise Integration Architecture teams to identify, define, and promote common data solutions to integration challenges for our IWMS technology and business and product partners. Through close collaboration and partnership with product teams, you will enhance the impact of technology on business goals and objectives. Operating in a fast-paced environment, we adhere to mature agile practices and principles, emphasizing customer-obsessed thinking and fostering an innovative team culture.
