Business Solutions Architect, Director
The Role
Do you enjoy collaborating across Business and IT teams? Is connecting the dots to help others see the big picture one of your superpowers? As a Business Architect in Fidelity’s Wealth business unit, you will provide the glue that connects business objectives and strategy to capability roadmaps. You will get to use your expertise to bring clarity and help assess, evolve, and govern our capability portfolio. This role will enable you to partner with business leaders, capability owners, and architects to drive common understanding of business initiatives and assess and prioritize capabilities. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of experts across many functional and technical domains.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- MBA or Degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or Engineering preferred
- 3+ years’ experience as a Business or Enterprise Architect
- Generating and maintaining artifacts such as capability models, heatmaps, maturity and health assessments, roadmaps, value chains and streams
- Modeling end-to-end business processes and flows, crafting customer journey maps
- Integrating domain knowledge with business strategy, customer and internal associate perspectives to provide a multidimensional view of a problem domain
- Performing maturity and health assessments of capabilities as well as capability roadmap assessments
- Assisting capability owners and architects in designing and maintaining capability roadmaps
- Provide direction and clarity on how the business capability landscape should evolve to support business goals and strategies
The Value You Deliver
- Providing traceability by connecting Fidelity and PI objectives to business capabilities and identifying metrics that enable governance and transparency
- Helping articulate, govern, and evolve the realization of PI’s business capabilities to align with business objectives, goals, and strategy
- Mapping business capabilities to platforms, systems, and services and identify unnecessary complexities, dependencies, and duplication
- Working with solution and domain architects to provide business architecture artifacts and input to inform solution designs
- Participating in planning of business initiatives to drive common understanding and align business outcomes to platform and capability roadmaps
- Driving conversations with business leaders and capability owners to detail current and target state capabilities relative to business goals and strategies

Fidelity’s Wealth business unit supports experiences, operations, business capabilities, and technology platforms that enable our Retail customers to be financially successful. The cross-domain architecture team works across Wealth’s functional domains with architects, technology leaders, and business capability owners. The team’s mission is to help drive simplicity, agility, and scale through the effective use and intentional evolution of PI’s platforms and capability portfolio. You can help the team accomplish this mission by applying a holistic, cross-domain perspective to capability alignment, governance, and end-to-end solution design.
