Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. Operation Homefront is sourcing candidates for a Director, Brand & Creative Services position (remote).
The Director, Brand & Creative Services will be responsible for leading the development and execution of an integrated brand strategy that supports Operation Homefront’s goal to grow the OH brand in support of growth in both revenue and programmatic impact. The position is also required to manage the brand strategy in a way that supports fundraising and engagement campaigns, while also overseeing creation of content for use on the organization’s website, internal newsletters, story bank, and other channels. The Director will also manage photography and videography projects to ensure high-quality visual content for various platforms and campaigns, and manage the creation, production, and distribution of the print and digital Annual Report and other organizational collateral and marketing pieces. The Director will manage a team of 3 marketing professionals and one on-staff writer, plus contracted graphic designers and writers. The Director will coordinate with colleagues to create compelling brand visuals and communications, develop a consistent brand identity across all channels, and manage project deadlines and status communications. This role requires a balance of strategic brand leadership and hands-on creative execution. The Director will manage a team of 3-5 marketing professionals, including designers, copywriters, as well as vendors, to support external organizational and donor content needs. The Director will coordinate with colleagues to create compelling brand visuals and communications, develop a consistent brand identity across all channels, and manage project deadlines and status communications.
Desired candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, Masters degree a plus.
- 7-10 years of experience in brand strategy, marketing, and creative design, preferably within a nonprofit setting.

Primary job duties include:
- Develop and implement a unified brand strategy that strengthens awareness and supports fundraising. Oversee brand identity, visual storytelling, and creative content across all marketing materials. Direct the production of key assets, including the Annual Report, marketing collateral, and donor communications.
- Lead creative development for major initiatives, events, campaigns and signature moments. Ensure consistent messaging and branding across website content, newsletters, and donor outreach. Oversee marketing requests to ensure timely, accurate, and brand-aligned execution. Provide hands-on design support, developing or refining creative assets and templates using design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
- Optimize workflows and tools (e.g., Monday.com, SRC, Box.com) to enhance team efficiency. Manage photography and videography, including vendor selection, asset collection, and distribution. Maintain an organized, accessible library of marketing assets for internal and external use.
- Supervise the Senior Manager, Marketing; Production Manager, Production Associate; Writer/Editor; and contractors. Foster a high-performing team, providing leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities. Manage vendor relationships to ensure high-quality creative production and cost efficiency.
- Oversee the creation of enterprise-wide marketing materials to support fundraising and brand-building. Ensure alignment with evolving industry trends in branding, design, and marketing strategy.

Other Details:
General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Ability to drive a motor vehicle and travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events as needed. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.

Salary range
- $87,000 - $97,000 per year
