How will you make an impact in this role?
American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) Products is the leading payment card issuer for corporations and small businesses, offering products and services to help them run and grow their business. Within GCS Products, the Commercial Card Product and Platform Development team is seeking a dynamic individual to help create and bring to market the next generation of card, virtual card, and spend controls capabilities through API products.
- Lead, inspire, and develop a strong performing team of product development professionals owning functional domains and API products
- Define roadmap and dynamically prioritize business requests with engineering capacity to deliver competitive offerings that meet customer needs
- Provide thought leadership during concept development, end-to-end user experience design, feasibility assessment, and delivery
- Effectively engage multiple cross-functional partners to lead the end-to-end implementation of a new features and capabilities (e.g., Business, Engineering, Risk, Legal, Compliance, etc.)
- Structure and lead team-wide processes, communications, and continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years’ experience in product development
- Strong technical background with understanding of API and domain architecture
- Proven ability to identify and understand business needs, turn them into technology solutions, and effectively prioritize the roadmap for delivery
- Strong people leader with demonstrated ability to develop people and build highly effective and results-driven culture
- Change agent not afraid to challenge the status quo, with an orientation toward process improvement and innovation
- Prior experience leading large scale initiatives within a matrix environment
- Proven thought leadership, able to identify and synthesize trends to provide valuable analysis and recommendations for improvement to leadership team
- Strong collaborative, relationship management and conflict resolution skills. Consistent track record of engaging with and influencing partners in a matrix environment to achieve outcomes without direct responsibility
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal form to different audiences with varying backgrounds
- Highly motivated self-starter with a sense of urgency, positive attitude, and the ability to excel in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Embodies a "team" mentality in all that you do, with a proven ability to take ownership for progressing project delivery
- Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field

Salary Range: $144,250.00 to $256,250.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
