A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.Purpose of PositionThe Director of Educational Outreach provides strategic leadership for UTEP's comprehensive outreach initiatives, focusing on college access and readiness programs across Texas Educational Service Center Region 19 schools. This position develops and manages innovative educational outreach programs, with a special focus on engagement of students in grades PK-10. The Director also oversees grant-funded initiatives and builds strong partnerships between UTEP and regional educational stakeholders. The Director develops and manages strategic plans related to expanding college access that include campus experiences and mentorship programs, while ensuring alignment with university enrollment goals and compliance with regulatory requirements.Essential FunctionsStrategic Leadership• Develops and implements strategic plans for outreach initiatives aligned with university goals• Provides innovative leadership to promote college aspirations, access, and preparation programs• Collaborates with enrollment management directors to align, develop, and refine division efforts and goals• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations• Participates in professional development and university committeesProgram Management• Oversees comprehensive outreach programs including selected campus experiences, college fairs, and related initiatives• Manages programs related to college aspirations, college access, and college preparation, especially within grades PK-10• Coordinates grant-funded initiatives and ensures program compliance• Evaluates program effectiveness and implements improvementsEvent and Outreach Coordination• Plans and executes outreach events across Region 19 schools, especially grades PK-10• Manages selected campus experiences and educational programs• Coordinates with university departments for event implementation• Oversees logistics and resource allocation for all activitiesRelationship Management• Builds and maintains partnerships with educational stakeholders• Maintains close, collaborative relationships with Admissions and Recruitment, Financial Aid and Scholarships, Orientation and Campus Visits, and other key departments to support institutional strategies and goals• Serves as a liaison between UTEP and Region 19 schools• Develops and maintains professional networks to support program successAdministrative Oversight• Oversees program budgets and resource allocation• Manages staff or student employees consistent with the organizational structure• Ensures accurate reporting and documentation• Promotes alignment with university mission and goalsKnowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.Complies with all State and University policies.Other duties may be assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's objectives, policies and applicable laws.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
