The Role
As a Director on the Strategy and Planning team, you will help shape the Compliance organization’s strategic business management practices and routines. You will work with partners across Compliance teams to perform a broad range of activities, including:
- Leading / supporting strategic compliance projects and initiatives
- Communicating Compliance strategy and driving understanding of key priorities across the organization,
- Supporting and coordinating executive level / governance meetings, senior leadership team offsites, presentations, reports and communications,
- Facilitating multi-year planning and scorecard routines,
The Director will also oversee operational activities on behalf of the Compliance organization such as budgeting, resource/headcount planning, developing/maintaining a calendar of communication routines and key organizational events. This role requires both detail orientation and strategic navigation, the ability to work across all levels of the organization, and the capacity to be the driving force behind progress and routine. Reporting to the Head of the Compliance Framework & Strategy team, you will play a vital role in making sure that the Compliance organization continues to operate efficiently and effectively.
- Lead the strategy and MYP process for Compliance in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team and business partners.
- Assisting in the development of strategic planning analyses and deliverables for presentation to executive leaders
- Understand the overall Compliance strategy, so that you can support the operation and management discipline of the Compliance organization through ongoing management routines.
- Develop, communicate, and influence the adoption of Strategy & Planning standards and the tools and platforms used to manage the associated work.
- Collaborate with the Compliance leadership team to refine and align business strategies and major initiatives.
- Assume ownership for and understand the prioritization of tasks and milestones on initiatives, programs, and projects to which you are assigned; ensure that deadlines are not missed.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- BS/BA degree with at least 10 years of work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to drive people-oriented efforts, including developing messaging and communications for change management.
- Self-starter, naturally dynamic and collaborative, with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally across diverse groups and various levels of leadership.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, identify trends, and transform data into coherent executive-level messaging.
- Think strategically, deal with ambiguity, can switch gears quickly and respond to shifts in priorities, and perform well in fast paced environments.
- Ability to work on a wide variety of subject matters across organizational boundaries and build effective working relationships.
- Proven thoughtful leadership, problem solving abilities, prioritization skills, and attention to detail; able to distinguish and elevate strategic and critical work.
- Proven teammate with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across functions while managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

The Team
This role is a key, senior member of the Compliance Framework & Strategy team which is part of Compliance, within Fidelity’s Legal, Risk, and Compliance (LRC) organization. This Team works in a collaborative environment, evaluating opportunities for driving a consistent strategy around fundamental compliance program activities, including regulatory change management, regulatory exams/inquiries, compliance issue management, compliance reporting and compliance program standards.
The base salary range for this position is $103,000-211,000 USD per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
