The Director, Estimating and Pricing is responsible for leading and developing Pricing and estimating across the entire organization. Director is responsible for sourcing direct and indirect materials, strategic alliance partnerships, vendor risk management and assessment, supply planning, master production scheduling, and inventory. Director is responsible for leading an environment that utilizes best practices for inventory planning, control, sourcing, scheduling and supply planning. Additional responsibilities include participating as a key member of the Leadership Team in the development, communication and delivery of the strategic business plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE
These responsibilities are essential for the effective planning and execution of projects, ensuring that costs are managed accurately and that projects are completed efficiently.
- Researching market prices and job costs to arrive at accurate estimates for projects.
- Calculating costs of labor, materials, machines, and overhead to ensure projects are completed on time and at the anticipated price.
- Compiling technical records that contain details of products and materials needed for the project.
- Using computer software to make and gather data reports, prepare charts and graphics, and correlate information from subcontractors.
- Ensuring all jobs are completed according to the prices approved by the customer.
- Working with customers and managers to plan and maintain effective relationships with customers.
- Preparing proposals and bid analysis to help customers choose among bids received based on quality criteria and price.
- Understands key production processes to better support the organization.
- Travel required up to 50% splitting time in Dallas, TX and Wichita, KS.
- Performs other duties as deemed necessary or as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration field required or equivalent years of experience.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of Pricing and estimating experience in a manufacturing environment, with the responsibilities of production, purchasing, inventory, production control. Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory position required.
Knowledge/Skills:
- General working knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to lead people and get results through others.
- Solid problem-solving skills and excellent management skills.
- Ability to maintain customer confidentiality.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel.
- Very Good working knowledge of Microsoft applications – Access, Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Microsoft Dynamics AX experience preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience in developing and utilizing metrics, both internally and externally, to drive performance.
- American Society of Professional Estimators Associate Estimating Professional (AEP) or Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) preferred.
