The Role

The Director, Fidelity Retail Communications will work directly with the Vice President, Fidelity Retail Communications to set communications strategies and messaging, as well as lead, design, and execute impactful communications programs that support key leaders in the Fidelity Brokerage and Fidelity Wealth businesses. These communications will not only reach key stakeholders in these two retail businesses, but associates, leaders, and other business partners across the firm.

As a trusted consultant to executives with deep expertise in communications strategy and content, this role will guide members of the Brokerage and Wealth senior leadership team – toward best practices in executive communications, associate engagement, and change management. Will work closely with key business partners (e.g., HR, Strategy & Finance, Meetings & Events, Change Management, etc.) to be successful in role.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8-10+ years of relevant experience as a communications professional

  • Deep expertise across executive, internal, and external communications

  • Financial services background preferred

  • Strong business acumen and a strategic mindset, able to understand a business’ multi-year plan, financial drivers, and align and prioritize high-impact communications around this for a diverse set of audiences
  • Excellent program management and planning skills, with proven ability to lead multiple components of multi-faceted communications and change management programs

  • Strong content strategist with exceptional storytelling skills across various media/channels (e.g., events, blogs, videos, presentations, talking points, and emails), with the ability to take complex technology concepts and distill them into compelling content that resonates with key stakeholders

  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented, with the ability to think and work successfully across the firm

  • Innovative thinker, with a desire to continuously learn and take creativity to the next level

  • Independent and consultative – able to provide strategic recommendations across all levels of an organization, with a particular skill in consulting with senior leaders

  • Ability to coach other members of the team, helping them grow their skills across executive, internal, and external communications

  • Focused on quality but can balance pace over perfection

  • Demonstrates impact of the communications the team delivers

The Team

The Retail Communications team is part of the Fidelity Leadership Communications organization within Fidelity Communications. Working closely with the most senior leaders within Fidelity’ retail business, we develop communications programs that inspire the thousands of associates to help more people – whether they are client-facing or creating and marketing the products, solutions or capabilities that we offer. As part of the larger Communications team, we are able to connect our work to larger enterprise efforts that reach a range of internal and external audiences.

The base salary range for this position is $103,000-211,000 USD per year.

Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.

Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.
