Chapter Leader – Director Software Engineering
The Role
We're looking for a passionate engineering leader to join Fixed Income Engineering chapter supporting Next Gen Trading platform experience. You will bring a strong technology background with a passion for coaching and growing engineering talent. In this role you will be leading a team of dynamic engineers working across multiple squads. The Expertise and Skills You Bring
10+ years of technical hands-on experience in designing and building large scale resilient distributed systems.
Passion for leading, coaching and developing talent in engineering teams in a geographically dispersed agile organization.
Proven experience in leading technical design and estimation, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and governance controls.
Experience in leading front end engineering teams with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular, TypeScript, Node, NPM, Rx JS) preferred.
Experienced in defining and promoting branching strategy, development and testing best practices with standard quality gates in CI/CD pipelines.
Broad knowledge of technology standards and best practices including devops practices, design principles, security, reliability, resilience, performance, etc.
Promoting engineering excellence and continuous learning mindset.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization
Experienced in identifying and acquiring talent needs, resource planning, and talent allocation across large organizations

Supporting and empowering associates, to enable delivery of increased value in their teams, including coaching and mentoring team members to help them grow and develop their skills.
Enabling an agile and streamlined organization by demonstrating agile behaviors
Influence strategic backlog and prioritization decisions partnering with product teams.
Measure performance through established objectives and critical metrics

Our Agile squads are composed primarily of full-stack engineers using Java, Python, Oracle, PL/SQL, Angular, and Kafka on the cloud to create software that supports Fidelity’s Bond and Money Market investment, portfolio management, investing and trading systems.
